“Safety for our students, instructors, and community is of the very highest priority. Mixed Media Arts runs a safe and successful program, with vigilance to specific safety protocols.“
Practices
- Screening Questions
- Temperature Checks
- Illness rescheduling
Screening
Mixed Media Arts asks screening questions of our guests, and monitors symptoms of both guests and staff. When students enter the building, we use a contactless thermometer to scan them for their temperature. We will be flexible to reschedule any classes missed due to illness.
Practices
- Masks are required over 2 yo
- Masks may be removed for meals
Masks
Masks should be worn at all times, except for set and limited times for snack/lunch and whenever breathing becomes difficult.
Children under the age of 2 are not required to wear a mask.
We will encourage your children to wear masks and have developed age-appropriate positive reinforcement tactics. Please also talk to your kids about wearing masks. Children who are unable to wear a mask on a consistent basis may be removed from the program
.
Practices
- Keeping a 6-foot space
- Exceptions for the same household
Distancing
All students must follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s social distancing guidelines. Keeping a 6-foot space between you and anyone else as well as limiting contact from each other (i.e. no touching, no handshaking, hugging, etc.) NOTE: This applies to entering the building, waiting to use the restroom, and waiting to use the sink.
.
Practices
- Studios cleaned after every class
- High touch areas cleaned all day
Cleaning of Common Contact Surfaces
The importance of improved cleaning cannot be overstated. Between groups of students, the studios will be carefully cleaned, with priority being given to common touch points.
Bathrooms, door handles/door jams, sink faucets, counter edges, light switches, handrails, kitchenette surfaces/appliance handles, door buzzer/intercoms, and chair backs are all high-touch sites.
Workstations for administrative personnel are assigned and/or wiped down on a regular basis.
.
Practices
- Extra ventilation installed
- Air scrubbers installed in classrooms
Ventilation
The extra ventilation and air scrubbing that we use to control the odor of some of our activities doubles as a mitigation to the airborne spread of germs. We follow the practices outlined in the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Guidance for Building Operations During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
.
Practices
- If exposed, stay home
- Contact tracing performed
In the Event of a Positive Result
If a person in your family is diagnosed with COVID-19 or your child is exposed to COVID-19, you will keep your child home and notify us without delay so we can plan accordingly.
If a person in your family develops a new cough, fever over one hundred degrees, shortness of breath, or TWO of the following: sore throat, chills, muscle pain, diarrhea, headache, new lack of taste or smell, you’ll get that individual tested, not attend MMA programming and notify us without delay in order that we will work on a plan accordingly.
